Emily BadovinacBoard Secretary
Emily Badovinac has worked on the Community Prep School board since August of 2014.
She is a current English Instructor at Pikes Peak Community College and teaches college-level English, developmental English, and literature.
Emily has been working with at-risk youth since 2003 when she was still attending PPCC. She began working as a student aide at what was, then, the Bijou Alternative Program, along with board member Wayne Hutchinson.
In 2010-2011, Emily worked at Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy as a student aide for the physical education department. During her time at JSAA, Emily worked with the after school programs and the summer literacy program as well as during parent nights. After finishing her education degree in 2011, she worked at JSAA as a student teacher. After student teaching, Emily returned to school so that she could teach at the college level, and she joined the PPCC family in 2013.
Emily has published articles with the online magazine USRepresented about various topics, but she considers her articles about literacy, the CASA program, and community involvement to be her most important work. She recently joined the CPS executive committee as Secretary, and looks forward to a closer involvement with CPS.
