I fell in love with school in kindergarten and have stayed in it ever since – as a student, teacher, assistant principal, curriculum director, and most recently as an instructor in the College of Education at UCCS. One thing that has become clear is that we all learn in different ways, in different places, at different times. Another is that life can throw some pretty significant obstacles into our paths.
What draws me to Community Prep School is its culture of relentless commitment to kids – meeting them where they are, re-engaging them in the school experience, motivating and supporting their efforts, and seeing them through to that most promising of thresholds: a high school diploma. Between the academic skills CPS graduates must demonstrate and the persistence and resilience they pick up along the way, they can step into the future with hope and confidence.
